We started our IT business in Cheltenham in Gloucestershire and we’re now based in Highweek near Newton Abbot (halfway between Plymouth and Exeter) in Devon. We have clients all over the UK. Penny and I work full-time for the company and we call on a team of specialists as necessary.
Outerbridge Ltd was established in 2010 by Mike Jones, formerly of Lexington IT. Mike’s interest in IT started with a Texas Instruments digital watch in the late 1970s and continued through a Sinclair ZX81 and a Commodore 64 to a degree in Maths and Computing from the University of Exeter. His career has included building and designing databases, implementing, upgrading and auditing accounting systems, and fixing data quality and integrity issues for several blue-chip financial services companies across the UK and Europe. Recognised for his versatility and ability to deliver to tight deadlines, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and a Member of the British Computer Society (BCS). Mike likes rolling his sleeves up, designing, coding and troubleshooting.
Penny is more of a ‘user’ of technology than a coder. She likes IT to provide solutions which make her life easier. This means she is superb at understanding what our clients are looking for from a user perspective. She has great IT skills, and is an Excel expert and an advanced WordPress user. Her career has included experience in selecting IT packages, systems implementations, process improvement, risk management, database design, financial modelling, data migration and data cleansing and she has worked for several blue-chip companies within the UK within the financial services, manufacturing, retail and professional services sectors. Penny is also a qualified Corporate Treasurer (AMCT) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA).
